The disciplines of Political Science and International Relations synchronically have the characteristics of art and science. Politics refers to “art of governing” whilst international relations can be viewed as “art of interpretation and implementation of the relations betweeen countries.” Besides, it can be argued that both politcs and international relations have been coloured by science in recent decades.
The programs, which are offered by the department, aims to develop the students’ ability to grasp the political, cultural and economical dimensions of global relations by the help of inter-disciplinary perspective. Thus, the faculty members are selected among the academics who are capable of dealing with such inter-disciplinary approaches. In addition to that, Department of Political Science and International Relations also offers a variety of courses from other departments in order to support the career planing process of the students.
