General Description
The Department of Political Science and International Relations is among the largest departments at Başkent University with 11 full time and 2 part time faculty members. The faculty members have diverse research interests, which reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the Political Science and International Relations disciplines Faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees from reputable universities of Turkey and the world. Faculty members are involved in academic projects and publish extensively in indexed academic journals both in Turkey and abroad.
The department offers a high quality education, which enables its 269 undregraduate and 19 graduate students to have excellent careers in acedemia, the public and the private sector. The Department of Political Science and International Relations offers four year undergraduate program and two year Master’s program, which aim to provide education examining national and international political process within the framework of economics, anthropology and sociology. The issues of development studies and international political economy also occupy an important place in the curricula. The department aims to develop the students’ ability to grasp the political, cultural and economical dimensions of global relations by the help of inter-disciplinary perspective.
